I am disgusted and utterly disappointed to have to do this, but I want to make sure all of you in the beauty world know NOT to support Jeffree Star Cosmetics. He was an idol to me, until I just this morning learned that he is a blatant racist.
People are calling him out on Instagram for a past video he had made with a friend doing black face; he used the words “little black bitch”, and talked about THROWING BATTERY ACID ON A BLACK WOMAN TO LIGHTEN HER SKIN TONE.
He is currently blocking everyone who is calling him out and demanding an apology. He will not admit to his “mistake”. That is… beyond appalling to me. If you were once a gross piece of trash, you should at least admit it and apologize, otherwise it looks like you’ve learned nothing. For all we know, he still feels that way about black women.
I will not support him or his cosmetics line from now on.
if a guy is hitting on u and he is clearly the alpha in his group of guys.. go for the third in command and undermine their whole power structure
Oh god, I used this tactic so often. Because in most cases I was trying to pull dudes for my friends, rather than myself. You figure out who their leader is, go for #3 or #4 in the group, who is generally much cuter and a bit more shy. This is why he ranks high, but not too high. You go hard on this dude. You hold his hand and smile at him. You don’t even have to go further. Dude #3 is just bewildered you brushed off #1. This makes the dude at the top antsy. It causes dissent in the ranks. Your friends can now swoop in, picking from the remaining dudes as they start to scatter in the wind. They have lost all sense of self. You have secured free drinks for the rest of the night. And whatever else your genitals desire.
prejudice and discrimination against ace people definitely exist. oppression of ace people does not. calling it “acephobia” puts it on par with homophobia and transphobia and they’re not really comparable. the “-phobia” label implies oppression, even if that’s not the intention.
so like. acephobia as a form of systemic, power-backed, government-sponsored oppression does not exist, no.
