the reason pwr bttm’s career tanked so quickly is bc they were part of an extremely tight-knit scene whose entire objective is making their spaces safe, inclusive, and progressive. pwr bttm preached all of these values while simultaneously engaging in abusive behavior and undermining everything they were supposed to stand for. like yeah, i’m sure some hateful people jumped on an opportunity to watch a lgbt band fail but the context of pwr bttm’s fan base and community of peers is ESSENTIAL to how this has all played out
