omg I’m yelling at her using fuckin nw46 foundation

this is literally her trying to change her skin color ew?

Once again I’m really confused why people are, or would ever, defend Kylie for what is essentially a form of brown face. Literally. 

No really, she’s literally using a darker foundation so her skin appears darker in photos. Anyone who uses foundation can tell you it’s main, day-to-day purpose is to match your skin tone/color and cover up things such as redness, blemishes, and the like. Concealers, which are typically a shade or two lighter, is used to cover up tiny blemishes, pimples, and under eye bags/dark circles. Contouring uses a series different types of foundations, one that is lighter to highlight certain aspects of your face, one darker to create shadows in specific places and “carve” out a specific face shape – smaller nose, stronger jaw/cheek bones etc – and one that matches your skin tone to even everything out. 

Kylie is very clearly using a foundation, one that is suppose to even out her face and blend into her natural skin color/tone that is very obviously darker than her actual skin tone/color. All that fancy break down of makeup in the first paragraph is just a roundabout explanation of why this foundation color for Kylie is a form of brownface. She is purposely trying to appear darker skinned. She’s attempting to appear as some sort of afro-latina woman borrowing dark skin, over lined lips, and other features that latina, black, and afro-latina women have been doing for decades. However, unlike with them, which typically got these woc labeled as “ghetto” or racially exotic, Kylie benefits from them. She profits off these looks and “inspired” fashion trends with them. 

It’s insulting, it’s disturbing, and it’s not defensible. 

Please tell me Im not the only one who remembered when she went out in public without her foundation and looked whiter than a ghost.

This is why anyone who does “Kylie Jenner inspired” make up tutorials piss me the fuck off. It’s not her original make up ideas, she stole them from Latina and black women.
