im literally begging this whole website to PLEASE read about the origin of the terms butch & femme. “Stone Butch Blues” and “Boots of Leather, Slippers of Gold” are good starting points for this imo, or also gothhabiba’s butch/femme tag. they’re terms specific to women dating other women, and have no meaning outside that context.
addressing literal lgbt history isn’t saying “fuck bi people” like its really not that deep to say that These Words Have Meanings, and it’s not like bi women haven’t created their own unique alternatives (i.e., doe and stag). if you’re dating a man and absolutely INSIST on calling urself ‘femme’, you might as well call yourself the jabberwocky while ur at cuz it’ll make about as much sense.
