makingqueerhistory:

Shoutout to the queer people who are forgotten. To the pockets of happiness you carved out of a society that hated you. To the moments of friendship and laughter that weren’t recorded. To the love and strength it took to just exist from day to day.

Let’s give a moment of thought to the sapphic lovers who made a home with each other and were remembered as good friends. To the transgender women who snuck out at night and breathed in the city air as their true selves but always made it home before sunrise. To the men who held their loves hand when they were able to scavenge moments alone. To all of the forgotten faces and stories. To all the grand moments that will never be written in history books. Tonight is dedicated to you, our forgotten family.
