Wirt writes many songs about his time spent in the unknown. He uses some of them in a poetry contest at school and wins first prize. He has to read his poems out to everyone in assembly and he is very nervous. The “graveyeard gang” are all waiting with him before he has to go on stage giving him a pep talk.
