“Beyoncé voiced support for the LGBT community on social media Thursday following the Trump administration’s withdrawal of Obama-era protections for transgender students.
“#LGBTQ students need to know we support them,” Beyoncé said in a rare Facebook post.
She encouraged her followers to donate to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), an organization that aims to support LGBT issues in K-12 education. She linked to the organization’s “100 Days of Kindness” initiative, which encourages people to post supportive messages for LGBT students on social media, building “a virtual wall of kindness,“ the organization says.”
