this reminds me of this guy who i went to college with, we studied graphic design and part of our course is to research other artists and make commentary on their work
i took a look in his sketchbook one day at an exhibition and came across a page where he was researching Shirin Neshat, and his annotation was all like “i’m not sure what this arabic text means, but the arabic text combined with the gun makes me feel like this is anti-west and promoting terror. very ominous and disturbing.” or some shit like that.
Shirin Neshat is Iranian. the text in her work is farsi, not arabic.
