I’m not being sarcastic with this, I really want to know:

What resources would asexual people be "taking away" by being included in LGBT+ spaces? Because every post lately seems to boil down to that claim, but I have seen no specification of what, exactly, those resources are.

1. Suicide hotlines – They’re already overbooked as it is and allowing cisgender hetero aces to use LGBT exclusive suicide hotlines will overbook them even more.

2. Schooling grants – LGBT only school funding that deserves to go to LGBT individuals and not cisgender hetero individuals because cisgender hetero individuals are not LGBT even if they’re ace or aro.

3. LGBT only shelters – Again, a scarce resource that’s already overbooked constantly.

And a ton more I don’t feel like going into right now.

I’m not saying LGBT individuals are any more important than cishet aces and cishet aros, but we already have a lack of actual resources as it is, and letting non-LGBT aces and aros into the LGBT community will stretch these already extremely limited resources.

Not to mention cishet people of any identity already get more than us by virtue of being cishet, so coming into our community to use our resources when they’re not even impacted by systematic homophobia/biphobia/lesbophobia/transphobia, is just plain horrible.
