apparently its canon that amethyst grew out her hair to look like greg and that makes me so happy (*tween girl voice* TWINSIES!!)
I don’t want to burst your bubble, but…
I think it’s important to remember that this picture was early in the series and may no longer be accurate, similarly to the inverted pyramid walls. Other things “wrong” with the picture include pearls hair, a style not shown in her regeneration, and roses outfit, when it seams as though she was never poofed between the time of the war and meeting Greg since she’s still wearing the same dress. Amethyst also shows real fascination with greg’s hair that wouldn’t make sense if she previously had that hair cut.
That’s all true, but until something concrete in the show states that this picture is no longer accurate, we have to assume that it is, because it’s part of the canon. Amethyst could just have easily decided to go back to long hair after seeing Greg’s, and we already know that the forms that a Gem cycles through when they regenerate are inaccurate, since Pearl’s non-canon pilot design was one of hers. They could have also shapeshifted their clothing for this occation, and Pearl’s hair style could be explained by wind, or gravity.
Forget the discourse surrounding the boat photo, I’m more interested in Rose. Look at her, just standing pretty, like girl someone is drowning and Garnet is punching sharks. We know you’re gorgeous and all but dang, you could help do something. Get it together Rose.
well one thing to think about in The Answer is that you can’t really rely on the visuals of the story being canon. The entire thing is being told to Steven by Garnet, so if she skipped over describing Rose’s appearence, Steven would just be imagining her in her familiar outfit.
