I think by far my favorite thing about Lemonade was that she allowed herself to be angry. She was angry and she expressed it absolutely carefree and the thought that you are absolutely allowed to be enraged and furious at infidelity and a lovers broken promise of commitment is so validating. But what makes it even more validating is the statement that after recognizing and feeling the anger, apathy, and fury you are allowed to define what happiness looks like for you, whether that’s finding healing in walking away from a relationship that drains and depletes you or sticking around to make healing out of rebuilt love.
